Alicia Lena was born on 18th January 1988 in San Diego, California. Her birth parents were heavily involved in crime and drugs so they decided that once she was born that they would put her up for adoption. Her adopted parents are Kelly and Mark Stevens, her birth mother was spanish which means that Alicia is half spanish. She started her music career at 18 when she decided to go around America touring clubs, She released her debut album This Is Who I Am in 2010, it spawned 5 hit singles and turned Alicia into an upcoming star, her second album Waking Up was released in 2011 and spawned 4 number #1 singles turning Alicia into one of the biggest stars in world music.

She was told from an early age that she was adopted and has never met her birth parents. She started playing piano at the age of 8 years old and started singing for school events at the age of 11 and her fascination with music grew as she grew older. She moved to New York at 18 to focus on trying to get her music career going by touring.
Early Years 2006 - 2009Edit
She started her music career at 18 when she decided to go around New York touring clubs, She was unsigned until 2010. During 2007 she was struggling to make a living and was considering quiting music and getting a "Normal Job" she was evicted from her New York apartment and moved in with a friend who was working at a strip club in New York. She decided to not keep in touch with her friends from school for fear of being seen as a failure. She got a part time job at a local library because it meant that she could earn a regular salary and could also give her the free time to concentrate on her music career, she later admitted in an interview "It was the best decision I ever made, My options at that time was to continue with touring small clubs which meant I'd be struggling financially or get a part time job which gave me regular money and also the time to continue with music."
Debut Album Success 2010 - Edit
She was signed by Junction Records in February 2010 and began work on her debut album the same day as she was signed and said "I really want to get this debut album released which is why I'm already working on the songs". In February it was announced that Stephanie Fierce will be featuring on a track from This Is Who I Am and will also be producing the track which has been announced as New York Love Affair. She has got many collaborations for her debut album with guest musicians including Stephanie Fierce, Tisha Jackson, Ryan Ross Hernandez and Moquel. She made her first televised performance at the 2010 IMA's performing three songs. Alicia & Stephanie Fierce finished their collaboration within two days and a music video was shot in and around New York City. She was confirmed as a support act for Tisha Jackson on the US leg of her world tour. She was also announced as a support act for Miss Vanity during the Oceania leg of her world tour from 1st August - 23rd August. Her follow up single More Than You'll Ever Know was released on 5th June, 2010 and peaked at 17 in South America, she also plans to release her third single Party-Starter (Feat. Tisha Jackson) on September 18th 2010. On 29th May she announced dates for the first leg of her debut world tour, the Here I Am World Tour begins in October and ends in March 2010. She made a performance cameo in TV series Lonely Youths in May 2010. Her debut album This Is Who I Am has sold over 2 million copies since it's release.
Since moving to New York she has kept her personal life quiet and her past and current relationship's are unknown. She said "I don't like talking about my personal life, It's not something I'm comfortable talking to people about and I prefer to keep my relationship's between myself and my close friends". She became close friends with various well known musicians, including Ryan Ross Hernandez, Tisha Jackson, Will.Rocca, Cherise, Mykaylah, G2L, Hard Sugar, Jake Wilson, Chloe, Isabel Merjos, Hannah Beth, Cassie Valentine, Dominic Brown, Benjamin Luna and Danny Allen. She is one of the rare people in the entertainment industry to have not had their private lives speculated in magazines and online and has often been highly praised for her attitude to fame and her ability to keep her personal life under wraps.
