This Is Who I Am is the name of the debut album from American pop singer-songwriter Alicia Lena, It is set to be recorded at The Hit Factory, New York and released in May 2010. She began writing songs for the album in mid 2009 before she had a record contract. She is set to collaborate on 3-5 tracks with other famous musicians.

Writing & RecordingEdit

She started writing songs for the album in mid 2009 and has said that she has written about 70 songs since 2008. She said that she wanted to collaborate with various artists on the album and has said that she's written her dream collaboration list and that she'll try to get some of the people on the list to collaborate with her. Recording on the album is likely to start in March 2010 and she's said "Even if I don't have a record label I'll consider self producing and releasing the album". It was announced that Stephanie Fierce would feature heavily on the track New York Love Affair and would also be producing the song, It was also announced that New York Love Affair (Feat. Stephanie Fierce) would be the first single from the album. She has also got Ryan Ross Hernandez and Moquel on board to collaborate on a couple of tracks.

Release & ReceptionEdit

The album was released on May 10th and it acheived critical and commercial praise. Rolling Stone magazine gave the album 4/5 stars and Q said that it was one of the best albums of the year so far. It peaked at number 17# in the USA and South America and went on to sell over two and a half million copies. It was announced that the first single from the album would be New York Love Affair which features a duet with Stephanie Fierce, It was released on 6th April 2010 and featured in the Billboard Hot 100 for 6 weeks, the song peaked at number 26 in the South American charts and went on to sell over seven thousand copies. The second single More Than You'll Ever Know sold over 950,000 copies and peaked at number 17 in the South American charts. The third single was Party-Starter(Feat. Tisha Jackson) which went on to sell just over one million copies and peaked at number 7 in South America.
